A Thought on Beauty

By natural accord humans want to worship what is beautiful; there’s something profound about beauty. God is beautiful; when humans don’t see God they are only capable of seeing beauty on a surface level. Let us say you can see God without knowing God (that is to recognise the divine in nature); then that is to separate beauty from where it properly belongs and worship the wonder, but wonder alone cannot give us proper meaning, despite that some may claim the beautiful is beyond needing meaning because beauty is meaning, but that is not true– to see God and to know God is to fulfil the wonder in a greater wonder, one that has meaning because it comes from the one who has a purpose for us; it is right to devote ourselves to God, not because, like some atheists say God is so vain that he needs us to worship him to feel good about himself, but because it is right to devote ourselves to that which is the greatest level of the beautiful, the source of beauty itself, from where love expresses itself; only God is worthy to be worshipped, it is right to worship he who created because of love.
