The fate of the unrepentant?

Which true Christian would not desire the salvation of all souls? The Bible says God desires the salvation of all people, but we do not know if that be realised, even God may not have that satisfaction.

I do not know if everyone will be saved or if some are allotted damnation, how can anyone really know that in light of Scripture passages making a strong case for both restorationism and the traditional view regarding damnation. I think it’s fairer to say I don’t know.

Some restorationists (or universalists) claim it would be cruel or unfair for any to be separated from God, destined for hell; but the fact is only God knows what true justice is and He will decide what is fair, and He won’t need any counsel from us. No man will get a say or advise how the courtroom’s procession shall go on that dreadful day (Lord save us!).

The case is God will do what is fair and right and good, we all know that. At the stage we are in in history the universalist doesn’t have a right to say, ‘I couldn’t love a God who’d send somebody to hell forever.’ Well what if justice demands it?

I am convinced man has no idea what justice truly demands when it comes to the divine purview. Who are we to say, and how would we know? Who wants an ignorant man doling out justice? Or an unparalleled fool in the judges’ chair? Thank God the Christ will decide!

If God can save all, merciful powers how his name we should happily call! If some are allotted destruction, then how we should listen to His instruction, and just as much so call on His name, to save us from eternal shame!

God does not take pleasure in the destruction of the wicked, but as I see it that doesn’t mean the destruction of the wicked is something we won’t celebrate, for then sin and unrighteousness will have got their deserved fate; those who chose sin and creation over righteousness and the Creator would get their pay, with the vile worm to lay, evil be defeated, the righteous at the Father’s table will be seated. Why wouldn’t justice’s due be something to be celebrated, after all don’t we all want justice to be sated? And won’t we be glad of the day when the needy are no more trampled under foot, and the oppressor in his place is put?
